  • Seniors Program - EECSA

Welcome to our Senior Program, a key initiative of Empowering Emerging Communities of Alberta. This program is specifically designed to support seniors, providing them with the resources, skills, and social connections they need to thrive.

Our aim is to ensure that seniors feel welcomed, supported, and integrated into their society through lifelong learning. We also offer seniors skill-building workshops and educational opportunities while encouraging social connections through various activities and events where seniors can meet and connect with peers.

Program Highlights

Information Sessions: Regular sessions to educate seniors about their rights, benefits, and the resources available to them in Alberta.

Technology Training: Workshops on using smartphones, computers, and the internet to stay connected with family and friends, and access online services.

Community Events: Regular social gatherings, cultural events, and recreational activities designed to help seniors build friendships and reduce feelings of isolation through shared interests such as gardening, cooking, and arts and crafts, providing a platform for seniors to engage in meaningful activities.

Fitness Classes: Gentle exercise classes tailored to the needs of seniors, promoting physical health and well-being.

Mental Health Support: Referral to counseling services and support groups to address the emotional and psychological needs of senior newcomers.
